Spooky season has snuck up on us too quickly, and how it’s already autumn is beyond me. As one of our favourite times of the year in Liverpool, there are abundant things to do this Halloween. So, we have put together all the most gruesome, thrilling and chilling events into one place, and here’s a list of all the things to do this Halloween.
1. Check out this free illuminated trail around Liverpool’s waterfront

Open between October 24 and November 2, the River of Light trail is lighting up the darker evenings now that the clocks are going backwards. The installations along the free trail include both new commissions and existing artworks, there to witness in all shapes and sizes.
2. Attend a captivating Candlelight concert
Classical music fans looking for things to do this Halloween can get immersed in a unique Candlelight concert on November 1 at the iconic St George’s Hall. Candlelight: Featuring Vivaldi’s Four Seasons and More is bringing a sea of candles, classical music like you’ve never seen before, a cosy atmosphere and unique covers, promising the most autumnal event. 3. Travel to Scare City at an abandoned theme park

Scare City is returning for another year to the abandoned Camelot theme park, “bloodier” than ever. Visitors can expect plenty of chills and thrills during the immersive experience, including the Slaughter House, featuring Camelot’s resident cannibal and his annual dinner party. What is more, guests can step into a new zone for this year, ‘Arakhne’, a horrifying spider experience within a spider’s web. Launching on September 27 this year, Scare City is one of the best horror attractions in the North West.
4. Embark on the Haunted Liverpool City Exploration Game

You can go off on an eerie journey around some of the haunted spots around the city. As one of the most bone-chilling things to do in Liverpool this Halloween, the Haunted Liverpool City Exploration tour sends you out on an adventure to discover the city’s dark past, full of unbelievable secrets. Starting at Lime Street Station, the 60-minute experience sends you to 11 different clues, each one more mysterious than the last. Book your tickets here.
5. Visit the UK’s scariest Halloween attraction in an abandoned asylum

Between October 1 and 31, Newsham Park Hospital is turning into Newsham Scream Park, inviting guests for one of the scariest experiences of their lives. 6. Have a blast at this Halloween-themed bingo experience
R&B fans, rejoice! Non-stop RnB anthems from the 80s, 90s and 2000s will be played at Old Skool Bingo, alongside a good ol’ game of bingo. Players are encouraged to dress up in their best Halloween gear, and head to BOXPARK Liverpool on November 1 for a party like no other. 7. Go pumpkin picking

The month of October is abundant with pumpkins all around, whether it’s pumpkin-spiced lattes or pumpkin decorations everywhere. 8. Feed rare breed animals, groom ponies and rabbits, take Halloween-themed pictures and pick pumpkins at this farm
Croxteth Park Farm is a rare breed farm in Liverpool where visitors can get some much-needed petting therapy from cuddly animals, as well as feed most of the animals. The farm is hosting their Half Term Halloween-themed event between October 24 and November 2, with a pumpkin patch, Halloween decorations and all the usual animal-themed activities.
9. Be a part of a “near-death experience”, along with magic and storytelling
The Oracle Bar has hosted mystical events throughout the years, such as the sold-out seance. However, there are still tickets to ‘Echoes of The Dead’ between October 20 and 29, which is filled with magic and storytelling, as well as a “near-death experience”. 10. Go on a Halloween safari with animals
Knowsley Safari is transforming its Foot Safari into a pumpkin-themed journey, inviting families to enjoy a spooky adventure. Visitors can enjoy the Halloween experience between October 25 and November 2, and adding to the excitement, one child goes half price with each full-paying adult for the whole half term! Expect a Marine Boo-Ologist’s Shack, The Poo Keeper’s Quirky Boxes, The Safari Chef’s Grimy Kitchen and The Dread-venturer’s Spooky Tipi Shack!
11. Go see St Helens Half-Term Panto – ‘The Wizard of Oz‘

There’s a true treat enthralling young audiences in St Helens this Half-Term, marking the return of the most beloved pantomimes. Spectators can have a blast watching The Wizard of Oz Panto, which is running between October 25 and 31. You can book your tickets here.
12. Attend Katumba’s Halloween Carnival 2025

Taking place on Friday, October 31, Katumba’s Halloween Carnival 2025 is bringing back their 10th anniversary annual event to Bold Street, with the festivities commencing at 7pm. Expect a parade with an “Ancestral Spirits, Ritual Fire” theme, bringing drummers and dancers to one place, and lighting the darkness with “rhythm and spirit”.
13. Get transported to corporate hell at Albert Schloss

This Halloween, Albert’s Schloss Liverpool is clocking into Corporate Hell. Taking place between October 27 and November 2, the series of events throws away all office etiquette, with seven nights of “supernatural showtime, prowling promenade performers and hell-raising Haus bands”. The weekend celebrations will see DJ sets, prowling promenade actors, and Sunday is for confessing one’s sins.
