As the Liverpool City Council is not bringing back the official fireworks displays to the city, looking for alternative options across Merseyside to celebrate Guy Fawkes Night is the way to go. Luckily, there are plenty of events happening this Bonfire Night near Liverpool, boasting stunning fireworks displays for everyone to enjoy in 2025.
Day of the Dead Festival, Southport
Taking place at Adventure Coast Southport, the amusement park is hosting its annual Mexican-inspired Day of the Dead Festival on November 1 and 8. Expect a myriad of colours with vividly decorated sugar skulls, alongside flame throwers, live drummers, performances and, of course, a massive fireworks display at the end.
The fire performers will also be joined by stilt walkers for extra flair, as well as live stage shows, and rides to help brighten those dark nights as the clocks go backwards on Sunday, October 26.

The doors open at 4:30pm, with shows and rides beginning from 5pm. The huge fireworks display is set to close the night in a spectacular culmination, with the event expected to close by 9pm.
Tickets are £30 for now, and the prices are set to rise again from November 1. You can book your tickets here.
Bonfire Night Fireworks Display at Birkenhead Park
Not only is Birkenhead Park a UNESCO World Heritage Site, but it’s also a place for many events. This year, visitors can marvel at a free Guy Fawkes Night fireworks display on Thursday, November 6, with the festivities kicking off from 6:30pm.
