Snuggle up in a cosy lodge this winter.

Through all of this year’s doom and gloom, it’s no wonder we’re looking for any means to find a cosy space besides our homes. And with a number of twinkling, cosy huts and lodges beginning to pop up in Liverpool this winter, how could we not get excited? From twinkling lodges decked out with Christmassy decorations, to cosy huts providing shelter from the harsh temperatures – we’ve rounded up the best outdoor huts and lodges to enjoy this winter in Liverpool.

1. Maray

Opening up their brand new wooden booths following the UK lockdown, Maray makes for the perfect social distancing spot this winter – including a number of booths available to book for you and your household. They take cosy to the next level, too, with vines climbing the sides of the booths, as well as heaters, to provide a festive ambience. This cosy, outdoor set up is only available at their Albert Dock branch. Enjoy their new Million Dollar Milkshake of Baileys, buttered rum, caramel and pistachio ice cream as you look across the water.  Maray, Unit 4, Britannia Pavilion, Albert Dock, L3 4AD

2. Mason’s

Escape the cold by snuggling up in one of Mason’s Christmas cabanas this festive season. Choose from three of their winter huts or lodges hidden within the Liverpool restaurant, each with their own Bluetooth speakers. There is the Chestnut Cabin, a winter wonderland escape which transports you into the elegant world of the Swan Lake and The Nutcracker; the Holiday Hütte, a Lapland adventure celebrating all things traditional and festive; and the Disco Den, designed in true Mason’s fashion with your very own neon sign and remote controlled mood lightning. But be quick to book for the weekend as these elegant cabanas have limited availability. Mason’s, 42 Seel Street, L1 4AU

3. Birdies

Birdies saw success earlier in the year with their Halloween-themed huts and are now back for Christmas, with their giant festive lodges taking centre stage. And for those looking for a headstart on the festivities, it’s officially open already. Complete with heating, fairy lights and a festive menu, Birdies is the perfect spot for some food and cocktails alongside a Christmas film to get you in the festive mood– where you can choose from family-friendly films such as Elf or more Christmas classics to watch like Gremlins. Book your hut for your your household here. Birdies, 29-31 Parliament Street, L8 5RN

4. The Club House

Revamping their fabulous alfresco space with a festive flair for winter, The Club House has gone all out with their winter lodges, including stunning fairy lights and karaoke to keep guests warm and entertained in the colder months. Guests can enjoy gorgeous food such as fondue and hanging kebabs alongside cocktails, fizz, or whatever tickles your tastebuds, with social distancing in place to keep us COVID-safe throughout the season. The Club House, Chavasse Park, Liverpool ONE, L2 9SQ

5. Liberté

A magical spot to visit all year round, Liberté boasts some of the best views in the city, such as the Liver Building in the background, and this year you can enjoy that luxury in an extra cosy environment, specially created for the winter months. Dine on beautifully presented substantial meals in their gorgeous winter village huts – which provide an extra layer of refuge from the chilly weather, with heating within each lodge and beautiful wreaths on the doors as well as twinkling fairy lights to provide lovely scenery. Book here. Liberté, Bentley Building, 50 Brunswick Street,  L2 0PL
