Award-winning one-woman show ‘Prima Facie’ is coming to Liverpool in 2026, starring Liverpool-born Jodie Comer. As tickets for ‘Prima Facie’ went on sale at midday today (March 27), 32,000 people were seen queuing for a chance to go see the show next year. However, many Jodie Comer fans left empty-handed, as the show officially sold out just after 1pm.
Right before the ticket sales were about to commence at midday, the Liverpool Playhouse phone lines already gone down, sounding a busy tone, and the website ended up crashing just after 12pm, pausing the sales. Fans were then able to start buying tickets once again at 1pm, with ‘Prima Facie’ tickets selling out in just 15 minutes.
Mark Da Vanzo, CEO of Liverpool Everyman and Playhouse Theatre, acknowledged the disappointment of some theatre lovers, stating the sale was the busiest the theatre has seen since 2008.

Mark told Liverpool Echo: “It’s a real coup for the theatres and for Liverpool to be welcoming Jodie Comer next year in Prima Facie. A show that is undoubtedly the most highly anticipated theatrical experience for 2026.
“The team have worked tirelessly with support partners behind the scenes to put systems in place, to ensure we could sell the available tickets as quickly and as efficiently as possible. At one point this morning we had over 32,000 on the site, with a queue of almost 100 outside the theatre, as well as busy phone lines.”
“We know we’ve disappointed many people. I’d like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding today for what is probably the busiest on-sale day for the theatres since the Capital of Culture year.”
