You know what they say. All good things must come to an end. And this time, that refers to the glorious bout of weather we’ve been having.
Greying out from later this afternoon, the sunshine will finally dissipate after a good few days of stellar weather, leaving us with some dramatically different conditions that are set to last late into the night.
Issuing a yellow weather warning for thunderstorms in the region, Met Office predicts that Liverpool can expect torrential downpours and spells of thunder and lighting, with some flooding predicted in areas that are flood-prone. It’s expected the conditions could expect homes and businesses with strong winds and floods, alongside delays in public transport as the storm rages on.
The Met Office also predicts that power cuts are likely, with Scousers told to ‘plan ahead’ if they’re looking to travel this evening.
The thunderstorms are also expected to affect much of the South East and London, alongside the entirety of the Midlands.
The storms are set to end at midnight tonight, however, Liverpool can expect more spells of rain and thunder as the following week goes on. Forecasts currently predict sunny spells with daily rain, with small bouts of thunder over the next seven days. Happy summer, Liverpool!
