Summer has finally arrived and many of us are looking for an excuse to head outdoors, soak up the sunshine and enjoy the fresh air. Luckily, Formby Hall Golf Resort & Spa has now opened up their al fresco space, The Patio, for you to enjoy a tipple and bite to eat within a beautiful outdoor setting.
The golf resort and spa close to the beach is bringing a taste of the Mediterranean to their Fairway Grill, Restaurant & Bar this summer by serving up a new small plates menu featuring dishes for you to pick at whilst you enjoy the warmer climes. Visitors to Formby Hall can choose three plates from the menu for £17 and enjoy tasty options including garlic and herb prawns; spiced chorizo sausage; feta, pomegranate and pine nut Salad, tzatziki baked flatbread; and deep fried goats cheese, to name a few.
Also on the menu are freshly prepared pizzas, cooked al fresco in a wood-burning oven, with a menu that has a little something for everyone; classics like Margherita and Americano will suit the pizza purists, and prosciutto ham and rocket; pesto, mozzarella and pine nut; and duck, hoisin and spring onion will tempt those feeling a little more adventurous. Pizzas are available from £14.95 each.
Plus, with a great covered outdoor space alongside their new menu, Formby Hall is the perfect place to chill out and sample a host of drinks and it’s great for those looking for a quieter spot just outside of Liverpool. Choose from Formby Hall’s selection of beers, wines and spirits, including Formby Gin and a variety of refreshing tonics and a summer cocktail menu comprising Mojito, Long Island Ice Tea and Pink Raspberry Spritzer.
The golf resort and spa has also launched a Wimbledon special on the Patio, available from June 27 and for the duration of the tournament. Guests can enjoy strawberries and cream, Eton Mess and high tea with Lauren Perrier Champagne.
The Patio overlooks the resort’s stunning championship golf course and you needn’t panic about the weather ruining your alfresco dining experience as the outdoor space is under a chic-tented canopy. To add to the cosiness (after all, summer can take a turn for the worst) the area also features a fire pit, comfy chairs, sofas and blankets.
The Patio is open daily from noon until late for guests and resort members, and walk-ins are also available to those not staying at Formby Hall. You can book your spot by the fire pit, as well as a room or spa experience, here.
