As the new ‘Peaky Blinders’ movie is underway, many of us are rewatching the iconic period crime series just in time for its release. While the official release date has not been uncovered yet, people have been speculating it will be late 2025 or 2026. As Liverpool has quite a few ‘Peaky Blinders’ filming locations, we have put them all into one place for you to retrace.
1. Powis Street, Toxteth
Season 1, Episode 1 (and multiple other scenes over the seasons)
Powis Street represents the blackened streets of 1920s Birmingham, and has served as the perfect backdrop for Tommy Shelby riding his horse in the opening scene. Named Watery Street in the show, the spot served as the Shelby home, headquarters and illegal betting office. However, the street no longer looks like it did in the show, as it has since been redeveloped.
2. Stanley Docks
Season 1, Episode 6
Season 1 Finale saw Stanley Docks outside the old Tobacco factory reimagined for the set, portraying the battle between Peaky Blinders and Billy Kimber. The factory has since been made into luxury apartments, yet the outside still remains as it was.
3. Port Sunlight
Season 2, Episode 2
Port Sunlight is a picturesque village just outside Liverpool, and was used as Polly Shelby’s new home, which was gifted to her by the Shelby brothers as a token of appreciation. What is more, it makes for a delightful day out!
4. Falkner Square
Season 2, Episode 5
The explosion scene to kill Henry Russell is filmed in Falkner Square in the Georgian Quarter, portraying his home in Belgravia. As Tommy’s younger brother John walks the street, you can witness the square behind him with its elegant townhouses.
5. St George’s Hall
Season 3 Episode 2
Located across from Liverpool Lime Station, St George’s Hall has been used as a stunning backdrop to many blockbuster movies, and being one of ‘Peaky Blinders’ filming locations in Liverpool is just another memorable moment in cinematic history. In this scene, we witness Grace, Tommy’s wife, get shot and killed in an assassination attempt aimed at Tommy Shelby by his rivals. Plus, did you know St George’s Hall also hosts the stunning Candlelight Concerts?
6. Formby Beach
Season 4, Episode 6
Formby Beach is where we bid farewell to the beloved Alfie Solomons (played by Tom Hardy, so no surprise there regarding the fan love). The scene is a wee bit gruesome, but stunning nevertheless, with the white sand dunes proudly framing the shots.
7. Liverpool Cathedral
Various episodes
Liverpool Cathedral was Tommy Shelby’s place of worship in the series, having been featured multiple times. Its stained glass windows and impressive architecture is an obvious choice, making it a top spot to visit when on a ‘Peaky Blinders’ filming locations tour in Liverpool.
