Liverpool has made some of the most impressive lists in 2025, including being the second kindest city in the UK, as well as the nicest city in the country. What is more, we have been crowned as the funniest region, and one of the best cities in Europe! And now, GoFundMe has announced Liverpool as the most generous city in the UK for 2025 – for the second year in a row.
The fundraising platform determined each city’s generosity by the number of people donating against population figures.
While Liverpool topped the list, Glasgow was named the second most generous city in the UK, with London coming third. Cardiff is fourth on the line-up, and Bristol rounded up the top five.
The cause Liverpudlians deemed the most worthy this year was raising more than £100,000 for toddler Sienna-Rose Miller, who needed to take a private medical flight after suffering a brain haemorrhage while in Mexico with her family.

What is more, the fourth biggest fundraising campaign in the UK was raising £370,000 for a new playground for Churchtown Primary School. The playground commemorates the victims of the tragic Southport knife attack – Alice da Silva Aguiar, who was nine, and Bebe King, who was six, as well as seven-year-old Elsie Dot Stancombe.
GoFundMe chief executive Tim Cadogan said: “We’ve seen people across the UK help each other in extraordinary ways this year, and Liverpool taking the top spot once again is a testament to the generosity of its community.”
