The season of cosy scarves and sparkling lights is almost upon us and this December visitors to Liverpool Cathedral will be dazzled by ‘The Light Before Christmas: The Angels Are Coming‘, a stunning light and sound show. It’s the perfect thing to get you in the mood for the festive season.
From December 2-9, the breathtaking light show will illuminate the cathedral, taking visitors on a journey through the Nativity story, guided by angels. State of the art projections will make for a truly immersive experience that will send visitors back to Bethlehem under the Roman Empire and tell the story of Jesus’ birth.
The gorgeous Gothic architecture at Liverpool Cathedral will make for the perfect backdrop to ‘The Light Before Christmas: The Angels Are Coming‘, accompanied by rousing music to create an even more magical atmosphere.
The beautiful celebratory installation was dreamt up by Luxmuralis, who were also responsible for the ‘Space, The Universe And Everything’ light installation in February. Peter Walker, artistic director of the exhibition, said:
“Following the phenomenal success of ‘Space, The Universe and Everything’, we’re delighted to be returning to Liverpool Cathedral with ‘The Light Before Christmas: The Angels Are Coming’, which will give visitors of all ages a chance to enjoy the festive season in a modern and artistic way.”
He continues:
“It really is going to be an unforgettable experience as stunning light and sound artworks depict the remarkable story of how Christmas began, all in the majestic surroundings of Liverpool Cathedral.”
We can’t wait to see this spectacular light show, which kicks off two years of events, eventually marking Liverpool Cathedral’s 100th anniversary in 2024. You can book your tickets for ‘The Light Before Christmas: The Angels Are Coming‘ here!
