Legacy Sounds: Katrina of Katrina & The Waves Live
After making a name for themselves in 1984 with “Going Down to Liverpool”, Katrina & The Waves went on to enjoy international fame with “Walking on Sunshine“, and to win the Eurovision Song Contest in 1997 with the song “Love Shine a Light”. Known for their feel-good, melodic, and rock-driven edge, the band, formed in Cambridge in 1981, is being celebrated on March 8 in Liverpool thanks to their former lead singer and Legacy Sounds.
Legacy Sounds is a concert series promoting legacy artists that were popular in the 1980s. And which better retro, power suit-wearing singer to pay tribute to than Katrina Leskanich? From “Love Shine a Light” to “Do You Want Crying?”, this mesmerising show will take you through some of Katrina & The Waves greatest hits. However, before the legendary singer takes to the stage, concertgoers can enjoy a disco experience and music by opening acts that get you in the dancing mood.
Whether you’re a diehard fan of Karina & The Waves or have come across their music while in search of some easy-listening tunes, you won’t want to miss this concert at St George’s Hall. Get ready to immerse yourself in 4 hours of great music and catch another glimpse of “the decade of decadence” and the nineties. Doors will open at 6 pm and close at 8 pm.
