Mark your calendars for this ultimate enigmatic experience that will amplify the food on your plate!
What to expect at Dining in the Dark?
The special experience promises to elevate your meal to a whole new level, leaving just you, your taste buds and your sense of smell to enjoy a three-course meal. You’ll be given three options to choose to be highlighted by the chef, namely red (championing meat), blue (focusing on seafood) and green (accenting veggies). The dishes, sometimes, have playful names that might also give clues as to the dish, so keep your ears open for clues as well!
As you’ve probably guessed by now, since you won’t see what dish sits in front of you, you’ll be given blindfolds upon arrival and carefully be led to your tables and instructed by the restaurant’s waiters about the rules of the experience. Basically, Dining in the Dark let’s you get creative and approach the tasting as you want to, whether it’s using the cutlery provided by the restaurant, or getting messy and going in with your hands and fingers. As long as you don’t get too cheeky and try to peek at the food, everything else is allowed.
Certainly, this experience wouldn’t really make sense unless shared with someone. During these 90 minutes, things might get frantic, laughter will ensue and don’t be surprised if some secrets are revealed by your loved ones, too! Interestingly, darkness alters the way we not only perceive others, but also present ourselves to the world. Wearing a blindfold sometimes serves almost as a mask, allowing us to speak and eat more freely, without any inhibitions.
