In a coupling not many of us would have seen coming, Candlelight: From Bach To The Beatles will celebrate the compositions of two legendary musical acts in a one-of-a-kind performance this March. A fantastic string quartet will take to the stage at St George’s Hall for an unforgettable musical mash up on March 30, and tickets are available now.
On the night, Baroque and British rock melodies will go toe to toe for a 60-minute show, performed by the Northern String Quartet. While Bach composed his music way back in the 17th and 18th centuries, and our homegrown The Beatles more recently – though actually not that recent – in the ’60s, their melodies are timeless, and acquire new fans even today. Just look at the droves of tourists who come to Liverpool specifically to celebrate the iconic foursome…
Candlelight: From Bach To The Beatles will have you toe tapping or quietly humming from the opening notes, as you can expect to hear songs like Ave Maria and All You Need Is Love played back to back. Random? Maybe. Brilliant? Absolutely.
The stunning architecture of St. George’s Hall will glitter by candlelight at the event; from the bronze doors to the milky-white statues, everything will be subtly illuminated in the darkened room. The atmosphere will feel almost magical as you let the ethereal sounds of string instruments, and beauty of the 19th-century building fill your senses. For fans of either act, it’ll be an unmissable evening, so book your spot here.
