This festive season, Royal Albert Dock is really pulling out all the stops to bring incredible, festive experiences to Liverpool, including the Albert Dock light trail, with two new installations. December will see the dock transform into its Christmas colours, full of fun, free activities for the whole family.
The light trail is certainly not the only attraction this year, as the Grand Hall will hosts loads of free workshops. There will even be a giant, ice postbox on December 17, where kids can post handwritten letters to Santa.
Visitors to the dock can even help to make somebody else’s Christmas incredible, with the opportunity to leave gifts for less fortunate kids at ‘Santa’s Workshop’ from December 5-9, between the hours of 10 am – 4 pm. You can even create your own festive wreath and Christmas decorations with local artist, Olga Snell.
Albert Dock light trail’s illuminated characters, Triton, Neptune, Bella and Bertie, will be joined this year by a giant yellow submarine and a couple of sparkling jellyfish. Plus, after a little walk around the lights you can enjoy some festive food at one of Albert Dock’s many amazing restaurants, including Lunyalita, Madre, Rosa’s Thai and Gusto.
There will be food trucks along the dock, offering decadent and warming hot chocolate and you can of course visit one of the many, lovely cafes too for a spot of something delicious. On weekends, live music will be on hand to entertain throughout December and you can learn more, plus download a light trail app on the website.
