It’s official: Liverpool Christmas Market will return this year from November 19 and we can’t wait to get in the festive spirit! It might still be September but Liverpool City Council’s Culture team are already preparing for a wonderful wintery market.
So what do we know about this year’s Christmas market? Well, it will once again be taking place on St. George’s Plateau on William Brown Street and it will be open until Christmas Eve. You can expect markets to open between 11 am and 9 pm Monday to Wednesday, then 11 am – 10 pm Thursday to Sunday.
So, plenty of opportunity to enjoy the Christmas market, where you’ll find the usual festive treats. Last year there were plenty of Alpine-style foods like German sausages and pretzels alongside the Alpine Lodge where you could sip mulled wine and get yourself in the mood for Christmas.
There were also vegan options at last year’s Christmas market, alongside those mouthwatering Yorkshire pudding wraps. Plus, it’s not just food you’ll find at Liverpool Christmas market. The market provides the perfect opportunity to buy gift for loved ones, closing at 5.30 pm on Christmas Eve.
That’s all we know so far about the Christmas Market and unfortunately this year there will be no Ice Festival at Pier Head. However, Liverpool One has announced their very own Alpine Village for the 2022 season.
The love heart Christmas tree will be scrapped this year in favour of 25 metre Christmas tree and several, smaller, neon trees. You’ll be able to indulge in a spot of karaoke at one of their alpine-themed hütte, each of which will be able to accommodate up to 8 people at a time. You can even hire out one of the lodges for a Christmas party of up to 20 people!
That’s all we know so far about festivities in Liverpool but you can count on us to keep you updated once more details emerge. After all, once summer’s ended people start looking forward to Christmas, and who can blame us?
