Adding to the festive cheer alongside the Liverpool Christmas markets is a new bar that makes for the most cosy and perfect setting, allowing you to retreat from the cold and put your feet up after a spot of Christmas shopping. The pop-up Winter in the Square will see one of Liverpool’s outdoor spaces transformed into a winter wonderland featuring an enormous tipi to provide you with both shelter and a place for a festive tipple or two.

Located at Exchange Flags, Winter in the Square will boast live music, DJs, festive food, a Christmas jumper rave, après ski nights and Michael Bublé and the Rat Pack tributes to make for a fun day or night. The winter-themed event will be running every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from November 17 until December 23, with bookings required on Friday nights, 6pm- 11pm, plus 12.30pm-11pm on Saturdays and 12.30pm- 10pm on Sundays.

Now open, the winter wonderland pop-up bar will be serving mugs of mulled wine, festive cocktails like Baileys flat white martini, cinnamon maple whiskey sour and a Christmas martini, as well as plenty of other drinks such as wine, beer, spirits and soft drinks. Winter in the Square will also be serving up a wide selection of delicious food by Betty’s Kitchen including some festive specials like mulled cider pulled pork and maple bacon burger; sausage, bacon and cranberry pizza; pulled turkey and stuffing burger.

Guests can also tuck into a Christmas BBQ share box whilst in the winter tipi, which features mulled cider pork sliders, chicken tenders, fries, chipolatas wrapped in bacon, onion rings, salad, nachos and cheese, cranberry sauce, tomato chilli jam and pickles. As for dessert, indulge in a toasted waffle with lashings of chocolate sauce, strawberry coulis, cream, strawberries and ginger crumbs or a slice of Cadbury’s Crunchie cheesecake- a vanilla cheesecake with chocolate sauce, toffee sauce, Cadbury’s Crunchie pieces and chocolate straw.

The Michael Bublé and Rat Pack tribute performances will take place on December 5 and 18, with slots available to book at 4:30-7pm or 7:15-9:45pm. And on December 17, you can don your fave Christmas jumper at the Christmas jumper rave at Winter in the Square whilst listening to classic Christmas tunes.

Free entry for walk-ins is available from 4pm to 10pm on Thursdays and 3pm to 6pm on Fridays and then £12 per head (including welcome drink and table reservation for two hours) for the rest of Friday, plus all day Saturday and Sunday. You can book your table at Winter in the Square here.
