Local independent businesses will be offering some brilliant deals for just £10 throughout next month
Independent businesses based in Wavertree and Allerton, south of Liverpool, have decided to take part in what’s being called ‘The Tenner Festival’. As the name suggests, businesses such as local shops, cafes, restaurants and services will be offering some great deals for only £10.
Co-owner of Bean There Coffee Shop on Smithdown Road, Candice Mulligan, was inspired by The Tennerfest held in the Channel Islands so suggested a Liverpool equivalent. A range of restaurants & pubs including Michelin starred restaurants on the island offer meals from £10 during October and it has helped to give businesses a boost and turn a somewhat dull month into a delightful one.
Many businesses are feeling the sting due to the past six months and the uncertainty that may follow in the next months to come, so The Tenner Festival is seen as a good way to give thanks to loyal customers for their support and promote their business. Unlike the ‘Eat Out To Help Out’ scheme, all types of businesses will be involved alongside some food and drink establishments in the Wavertree and Allerton area.
Businesses include Chandlers Supercentre, which has everything you could possibly need, as well as local plant and homewares shop, A Slower Space on Penny Lane who are putting together a gorgeous plant starter kit. Many bars and restaurants in the area will be getting involved including East River, The Watering Can, Bloom Bar and Bistro, Evil Eye Burrito Bar, Belzan and of course, Bean There Coffee Shop.
If that’s not enough greengrocers on Allerton Road, Adams Apple, will be putting together veg boxes and working with ‘Food Sounds’ and other local businesses to create recipe boxes and adding a playlist for you to listen to whilst cooking. there is also the amazing charity shop. Open Door, who will be offering a rail of two items for a tenner! Plus there are some local craft makers such as Made By Me and Knotty Potty getting involved.
