It is safe to say we have started 2025 in an icy way. However, it looks like winter is officially coming. The Met Office has extended its yellow weather warning for ice today (January 7).
Looks like the big coats are making a belated appearance after all. Starting from 5pm on January 7, Liverpool will see its temperatures drop to zero during the night. As a result, The Met Office issued a Yellow Weather Warning for Snow & Ice, cautioning Liverpudlians for potential disruption.
The Met Office said: “Afternoon and evening showers will slowly ease back to coasts Irish Sea coasts, allowing ice to form on untreated surfaces inland. Showers will be a wintry mix, with 1-2cm accumulating on ground above about 200 m before they begin to ease.”
