If you’re looking to get vaccinated, head to one of the city’s largest parks.
Sefton Park has teamed up with the NHS to offer a mass vaccination pop-up between July 15-18. Over 18-year-olds who have yet to receive their first COVID-19 jab, or have been waiting more than eight weeks for their second dose, have the opportunity to get vaccinated at the Liverpool park over the course of the weekend.
Any adult will be able to turn up to the park and get their first vaccine if they have not already taken up the offer. The pop-up, which opened from 3pm to 8pm on July 15, is available for Liverpudlians to visit from midday to 9pm on 16 July, as well as from 11am to 6pm on July 17 and 18.
Sunseekers looking to enjoy the warm conditions this weekend will also be able to receive a vaccine at some parks in London too. Those who have receive their vaccination at Sefton Park can then go on to explore the green space, sunbathe and maybe even grab an ice cream.
NHS staff will also be jabbing at the Tate Modern art gallery on London’s Bankside on Friday evening where DJ and influencer Zoe London will also be performing.
The online web tool that allows people to find their nearest centre by simply entering their postcode will be updated from today, making it easier than ever to get a jab in the arm.
NHS medical director for primary care, Dr Nikki Kanani, said: “You can pop into Primark, enjoy the sun in the park, and explore the art at the Tate, while also protecting yourself and your loved ones by getting a vaccine this weekend.
“From high street shops to mosques and sports grounds, our incredible staff together with our wonderful volunteers are doing all they can to make sure it is easier than ever for people, particularly young adults to get protected.”
