The much-loved pizzeria has arrived at one of Liverpool’s top streets.
Following a successful few years of expansion for Manchester-born Rudy’s, it looks as though the popular pizzeria has its sights set on Liverpool once again (because why not?) with a new restaurant in the Ropewalks area now open from September 27. Marking the pizzeria’s ninth restaurant, the new restaurant opened in the former Sainsbury’s building on Bold Street in the cultural heart of the city centre.
After exponential growth across Manchester city centre over the past six years, the pizza chain has found success in cities such as Liverpool, Leeds, Birmingham and even made its first venture to the capital earlier this year. Creating perfect, light and classic Neapolitan pizza since 2015, when it was founded and run by Jim Morgan and Kate Wilson, the first Rudy’s Liverpool site opened on Castle Street in 2018, but clearly the people of Liverpool know what good pizza is giving reason to open the Bold Street site.
For Rudy’s, it’s all about the pizza. The dough is made fresh on site every day and cooked in wood fired ovens for just 60 seconds, all in accordance with Neapolitan pizza tradition, leaving it soft and floppy with a leopard patterned cornichon (crust).
Believing Neapolitan pizza to be the best in the world, Rudy’s dough is made fresh daily using Caputo ‘00’ flour which ferments for at least 24 hour. Their dough is then combined with the best quality ingredients imported twice a week from Naples, including San Marzano tomatoes grown on fields next to Mount Vesuvius, and Fior di Latte mozzarella.
Expect to see classic recipes such as Marinara, Margherita and Calabrese as well as weekly specials – all originating from Naples, the birthplace of pizza. Rudy’s has been praised for its pizza for some time, and not just by us, as it was recently named the fifth best pizza in Europe by Big Seven and is currently the ‘No.1 Pizzeria in the UK’ on Tripadvisor.
Plus, to mark the launch of the second Rudy’s Liverpool site, the new pizzeria offered 2,500 free pizzas to it’s new neighbours and friends. However, if you sadly missed out, Rudy’s says to standby and keep an on your emails if you’ve registered with the new restaurant for updates. You can register here.
