There’s just something about the Great British seaside- the sea breeze, excuse to eat plenty of ice cream and feel the sand between your toes. It’s not a summer holiday abroad, but we’ll take it. Bringing the most-loved elements of the seaside, the waterfront at Royal Albert Dock in Liverpool will be transformed this August.
From pastel striped bunting and giant deckchairs, to nostalgic seaside flavours including chip cones and ice cream tubs to enjoy in hand as you stroll around the dock’s historic waterfront, this seaside has never looked so good. Visitors can head to Anchor or Mermaid Courtyard for a selfie in one of the giant deckchairs and enjoy tastes of the seaside with specials from the dock restaurants and bars.
Pick up a chip cone from Docklands Fish & Chips or Cajun popcorn shrimp from Revolution, or get a sweet fix with sugar coated churros from Revolucion de Cuba. You certainly won’t go hungry here!
Plus, a trip to the seaside wouldn’t be complete without sampling the very best catch of the day, and the dock’s resident seafood specialists, Lerpwl, are taking the flavours of the seaside to a whole new level. There you can try a new menu, with delicious oysters, mussels and roast cod.
After a day in the sunshine enjoy a frozen strawberry and hibiscus margarita from Madre or a frozen red sangria from The One O’clock Gun. Rosa’s Thai Café also has five different bubble tea flavours for you to try this summer. You can expect tons of activities for adults and children alike as the docks transform this summer and keep up to date with announcements on the website.
