Gaming-themed bars just carry that certain charm: the excitable players cheering, the cries of someone who just lost a match at Mortal Combat and the approachable energy of childlike wonder in the air. Liverpool has a game bar, Pixel Bar, with retro games and themed cocktails, ready to delight bar-goers with a journey back in time.
Pixel Bar already has two branches in Leeds and Manchester, and Liverpool is the spot’s third location. The spot combines a relaxed vibe with gaming, with themed cocktails while “destroying” their mates at games such as Mario Kart and Mortal Kombat. The concept has proven popular with everyone looking for a venue to level up their night out, and you don’t have to be a die-hard gamer to have a wonderful time.
Pixel Bar has taken over the previous Belgica and Monastery site at 94-96 Wood Street, next door to Fact Cinema & Gallery. Gamers can play anything and everything like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Mario Party Superstars on Nintendo Switch, FC25 and Tekken 8 on Playstation, or Street Fighter 6 and Mortal Kombat 1 on XBOX. There are also PC games to check out, like League of Legends, Fortnite and Counter Strike 2.
Currently, there are plans for Pixel Bar to introduce a new cocktail menu, launching this May. While the contents are still under wraps, guests can expect the usual game-themed concoctions.
Pixel Bar is located on Wood Street, and you can book a console booth here.
