Biting into a taco, feeling the dance of flavours kick in brings another level of comfort. Tacos are just the best, and you can have a taste of Guadalajara at Picante in Liverpool.
Picante is officially coming back for another season in the heart of Cains Brewery Village this March 13, boasting a Mexican cantina with plenty of margaritas to go around. Owned by Joe Wild from Taco or Don’t, Kate Meehan (Gin Journey, Paloma Café, London), Sally Jo Whitlow (Jenny’s Bar) and Danny Murphy, the spot spans across two floors in the former Dockleaf site.

What is more, guests can expect bottomless brunches, bottomless wings on Wednesdays, 20% off the back bar drinks every Thursday and Happy hour every day after 8pm. Plus, the spot will host Latin daytime parties on the Más terrace during the summer, with externally promoted events and in-house sessions.
Guests can expect a Guadalajaran-inspired food menu includingCoconut shrimp taco and Vegan Birria taco, Crispy chicharrone and jalapeño poppers sides and Mc-apple pie quesadilla for dessert. What is more, visitors can grab bar snacks, such as pickles, olives with grapefruit, and smoked salt, as well as add-on sides like bag-o-nachos and elote ribs.

What is more, there are frozen, classic and flavoured margaritas, including a rotating selection of over 40 tequilas and mezcals. Guests can also indulge in Mexican beers, and more classic options like beer on tap and cocktails.
Danny Murphy says: “Our debut season with Picante exceeded all of our expectations – we absolutely loved introducing our Mexican cantina concept to the city in 2025, and genuinely, we were blown away by how much people loved it. The feedback has been truly wonderful since day one and we can’t thank everyone enough for their support for Picante. And now for 2026, we’re coming back bigger and better, with new dishes and cocktails to try, monthly Tequila Tasting Fridays sessions, Kate’s back with her Margarita masterclasses and we will have day parties up on the Más terrace.

We’re bringing back the high energy, fiery fun and warmly welcoming Picante vibes, perfect for the forthcoming spring and summer seasons – and hopefully we get lots of sunshine, too! Don’t forget Picante means spicy in Spanish, and that’s exactly what we’re all about, bringing the heat to Liverpool again from Friday, March 13.”
Picante is walk-ins only, open Wednesday to Sunday from March 13, so no need to book!
