Treat your mum to a fancy meal this Mother’s Day.
Not all of us will be fortunate enough to see our mothers, or the legendary matriarchs and women in our lives, this Mother’s Day but that doesn’t mean you can’t treat them to a meal. Some Liverpool restaurants have taken the stress out of trying to rustle something up, or potentially burn it, by offering Mother’s Day-themed meal kits, boxes and hampers with little preparation involved. Here are some of the best dine at home experiences from Liverpool restaurants we’ve picked out to show some love and appreciation when you can’t take them out.
1. Six by Nico
This hamper from Six by Nico’s dine at home range, Home-X, has been added to numerous online shopping carts so if you manage to get your hands one, count yourself lucky. Their Mother’s Day edition serves two and features a starter, main course, two sides, a sweet dessert and a cheese course. Plus, the meal box comes with a lovely bottle of Prosecco to enjoy. The stand out dishes have got to be their sirloin beef as well as truffle cheese potato dauphinoise. The Home-X box costs £65 with delivery included and you can purchase it here.
2. Belzan
One of Smithdown Road’s best restaurants has also launched a Mother’s Day menu available for both delivery and collection. With Belzan at Home, you can order starters, mains and desserts for your mum to tuck into. Main courses start from £10, sides from £6 and desserts from £14. We’ve got our eye on Belzan’s chocolate tart or tonka bean rice pudding with Aperol poached rhubarb. The Toxteth restaurant also stocks a range of produce and plenty of wines on their online store here. All store items are available for collection (12-6pm) or delivery (12-2pm) Thursday-Saturday.
3. Maray
Maray has launched a luxury hamper for Mother’s Day this year and it’s pretty delicious based on all the goodies inside and the perfect alternative since we can’t dine in at Maray. The hamper, priced at £49.99, includes: fig and sherry jam; red onion and pomegranate chutney; beetroot pickled turnips; cinnamon and citrus oil; smokey chilli nuts; sumac and orange shortbread; sesame butter puffs; a box of six truffles(milk chocolate pistachio praline, white chocolate and peach, dark chocolate orange); hot chocolatemix; maple marshmallows; and a bottle of sparkling wine. There is also an option to add on a bottle of Maray Batch No.1 Gin or our Rhubarb Royale cocktail to your hamper.
4. Good Liverpool
Good Liverpool have launched the ultimate afternoon tea for mums to enjoy this Mother’s Day with delivery available on the day so they can indulge in freshly baked goods. Their Fit For A Kween afternoon tea features four finger sandwiches (egg & cress, salmon & cream cheese, cucumber & cream cheese, tuna mayo), with a veggie option of cheddar cheese with tomato and chilli chutney. Plus, the afternoon tea includes plenty of sweet treats- a scone with cream and jam, either a homemade Jammy Dodger, Bourbon biscuit or rhubarb and custard cream biscuit, a choice between a mini lemon and poppy seed or coffee cake and strawberries. And Kweens can sip on English Breakfast Tea as well as Prosecco if one drink will not suffice. Find Good Liverpool’s afternoon tea, which starts from £16, here.
5. Lu Ban Kitchen
Treat your mum to a Mother’s Day banquet this year with Lu Ban Kitchen’s dine at home experience. The banquet box features 10 siu mai pork dumplings with red dragon dipping sauce and dumpling sauce, eight salt and pepper chicken wings, two slow braised blades of beef in an aromatic Jiang sauce, and fresh Lu Ban noodles to serve two people, as well as instructions on how to heat at home. Lu Ban Kitchen also has a selection of dishes available from their Lu Ban Dim Sum menu, plus Lu Ban Cooks boxes priced at £10 and you can even create your own.
