As prices for services are increasing throughout the country, Merseyrail is no exception. Merseyrail is raising their ticket prices this week, so here’s everything you need to know in one place.
Starting from Sunday, March 2, passengers will see fare increases from the rail provider. Tickets are going up by 3.6%, which is below the average of 4.6% compared to other operators across England and Wales.
As a result, travellers will now have to pay £4.70 for an adult day saver ticket for one area, instead of £4.60.
What is more, a Merseyrail-only rail pass season ticket for one zone will cost £19.80 instead of the old price of £19.10 starting this Sunday (March 2), while a family ticket will go up to £14 from £13. Commuters can expect the same increase of £3.6% for Trios and Saveaways.
Greg Suligowski, Head of Communications at Merseyrail commented regarding the new ticket prices: “Rail operators across England and Wales increase their ticket prices in March each year.
