It’s official – Liverpool is home to its first five-star hotel, and we couldn’t be happier! The Municipal Hotel & Spa Liverpool was awarded the coveted AA five-star rating, strongly positioning itself among the best hotels in the world just three years after opening its doors.
Located at the Municipal Building on Dale Street, The Municipal Hotel & Spa Liverpool is part of Accor’s luxury MGallery Hotel Collection. The establishment was praised for its “beauty, charm, grandeur, character, and luxurious touches”, as well as the high overall service levels, “supported by a strong hospitality culture with a team clearly dedicated to guest care”.
What is more, the Seaforth brasserie-style restaurant at the hotel has been awarded the prestigious AA Rosette distinction, proving outstanding dining quality. The dining experience was applauded by the inspectors, with the restaurant serving Liverpool-inspired dishes.
The building itself is worthy of appreciation, as it is the former council offices located in the historic Grade II listed Municipal Building, which received a £70 million restoration before opening.
The Municipal Hotel & Spa Liverpool boasts 179 bedrooms, a restaurant, an afternoon tearoom, a bar and a spa, which has state-of-the-art facilities, a 16-metre indoor swimming pool with city views, a sauna, steam room, laconicum, experience showers and a jacuzzi.
The Palm Court Bar serves as the hotel’s centrepiece, showing off the impressive regal grandeur of the historic building. The spot hosts live music, as well as serves the traditional Scouse dish we all know and love.
