From beer on draft to beer on your doorstep.
Friday and Saturday nights just don’t feel the same right now, but that doesn’t mean the booze has to stop entirely. Our local Liverpool pubs, bars and breweries are bringing us the goods via online stores and delivery to our door (can’t complain when a box of beer arrives on our doorstep) so we don’t feel as though we’re missing out too much. Check out our guide to the best local breweries, bars and distilleries in Liverpool offering an alcohol delivery service during lockdown.
1. Love Lane Brewery
A local gem, located in the Baltic Triangle, Love Lane Brewery is continuing to offer up their innovative brews during the pandemic, with a whole host of new beers available to try. Some brews have emerged in time for winter, known as Sgt Peppermint, which will be available online from Friday 20 November. The brewery is well known for its innovative flavours and has concocted this winter warming brew, a stout which tastes like mint choc chip ice cream and it’s 12%! Woah! For more unusual brews check them out here and you can get £10 off their Love Lane Double Dry Hopped IPA this month as a Movember special offer. Love Lane Brewery also have their taproom open on Fridays, 4pm-7pm, for refills and to buy takeaway cans and kegs.
2. East River
East River’s home cocktail delivery service, launched near the start of the first lockdown, offering pre-mixed versions of their renowned cocktails that you simply add ice to and pour. The service was designed to keep us in ‘high spirits’ throughout the lockdown period, helping to bring a taste of our former lives straight to our door. Perfect for your next Zoom quiz night with your mates or for boujee night in bevs on the sofa. You can even order off of their food menu via Deliveroo or Uber Eats to have alongside your cocktails for a great date night idea. Simply send them a direct message on social media or give them a call to pre-order your cocktails. Each drink costs £6 but East River are also offering two cocktails for £10. 3. Berry & Rye
Berry & Rye has taken to creating cocktails that you can enjoy from home. You can enjoy classics as well as a unique cocktails such as Lovelace, which is a mix of raspberry jam, passionfruit, citrus, Aperol and includes a whole bottle of Prosecco. You can call to have your cocktails delivered from Thursday to Saturday, with free delivery for those in a 15 mile radius of the bar, including Warrington, Ormskirk, St Helens and Wirral. Plus, if you fancy a bite to eat to go with your cocktails, Berry & Rye are also delivering grazing boxes packed full of cheeses, meats, olives and crunchy snacks. Their pre-mixed cocktails can last ages and make a great gift for friends and family.
4. The Boozy Pantry
The Boozy Pantry launched their alcohol delivery service in Liverpool in May 2020 to help get us through the first lockdown but you can still get mixing from home for the third time around. Cocktails include the classics such as pornstar martini, strawberry daiquiri and the team’s very own festive concoctions such as Cranberry Gin Fizz and After Eight White Russian. All drinks are delivered to your home and you can also add platters of snacks or sweets for that extra fun twist. You can order via direct message on social media and alcohol delivery is free for those within a four mile radius of L25.
5. Good Liverpool
If you’re looking to support a local business, Good Liverpool are offering a number of grocery and bakery items, as well as alcohol delivered to your door. Check out their site and you’ll be able to order every type of alcohol you could possibly need, stocking mainly local brands but a few national and international ones too. Whether you’re planning on having cocktails with your Zoom crew or setting up an elegant wine and cheese night with your partner, head here. 6. Black Lodge Brewery
If you can’t get enough of their funky-designed cans, then you’re in luck as Black Lodge Brewery has taken their beers online to help make lockdown that little bit more bearable. Better yet the people of Liverpool and Wirral can get free alcohol delivery. The brewery delivers from Tuesday to Friday, depending on your postcode, plus they do national delivery too so you can send some beers to a mate or family member. If you’re not far from their taproom on Kings Dock Street in the Baltic Triangle, then you can collect your brews in the afternoon and early evening between Thursday and Sunday. Choose from 440ml cans or five litre mini casks with built in taps in a range of brews and flavours, plus they have their own gin and merchandise. Try their latest beer edition fittingly-named for the hard times known as “I’m Poor, I’m Broke, But I’m Just Fine”, a chocolate and vanilla flavoured stout. Can’t decide?
