Whether you’re relieved or gutted to see the end of the year approaching, the Kazimier collective, known for their River of Light Trail installations, outdoor bar Kazimier Garden and epic nights at the Rollerdrome, is launching a club night concept that’s perfect to celebrate the end of 2021 at. Described as a “brand-new unique journey into a sprawling arcade of games, karaoke bars and dance floors” this event on New Year’s Eve knocks last year’s so-called “celebrations” out of the park.
Enter a world created by the K-TV network for the set of a new reality game show known as Leisure Land, which will take place at the Invisible Wind Factory (IWF). This NYE event will be the first Leisure Land show of many as The Kazimier plans to continue this club night concept into 2022 and the very first episode will also be broadcasted live.
Set inside a cosmic paradise, Leisure Land allows guests to explore an alternate society using the Kazimier’s pseudo-currency ‘Iced-gem coin’ to pay for a world of incredible games, activities and live entertainment. Contestants who barter, trade, and compete to accumulate the most Iced Gem Coin get the chance to play for the ultimate prize.
The live entertainment element of this multifaceted flagship event will include performances from the psychedelic folk collective Wanton String Band, crowd pleasing covers from Harsebax, a high-octane audio-visual spectacle from Dogshow and artists including Lupini and Twindependent Women. There will be an exclusive world premier of Jacques of All Trades teamed with a diverse offering of the best North West selectors and a special guest in the Berlinesque basement club ‘Substation’ as Invisible Wind Factory sets the pace for the new year ahead. Plus IWF’s in-house delicious Invisiburger will have be offering plenty of mouth-watering food for guests to tuck into.
Co-founder and co-director of IWF, Laurie Crombie, said: “We are super excited to develop a large scale activity focused club night at the Invisible Wind Factory for New Year’s Eve which will feature future events in 2022. It’s going to be immersive and unlike anything else we have done or the city has seen. Lots of people have found a new interest in sports, activities and games during lockdown so we are really excited to develop a new kind of club night that mixes this with live music, theatre and wider club culture.
“We all felt the difference from not being able to celebrate NYE last year so we are very excited to invite everyone to this new event concept which has a little bit for everyone. The Invisible Wind Factory is perfect to create a world within a world and for Leisure Land we are creating our most expansive environment yet. It’s going to be like stepping into another dimension.”
