The restaurant is famed for their peanut butter and bacon jam burger.
Dining out post-lockdown sure is something quite special, and with a new addition coming to Bold Street we can’t wait. Fat Hippo, a group of independent burger restaurants based in the North, has brought their insane and drool-worthy burgers to Liverpool.
Expect their signature beef and boneless buttermilk chicken patties, that come with free fries (or you can upgrade them), as well as a range of vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free options to choose from. Fat Hippo opened their Bold Street branch on May 28 and they’ve also brought their renowned beef burger PB and Double J, which features two beef patties, American cheese, chunky peanut butter, bacon jam and smoked chilli jello, to the Liverpool restaurant’s menu. And if you’re feeling ultra hungry, they even serve a four-patty beef burger!
Fat Hippo is famed for its quality ingredients and quirky flavours, which also appear in their tasty starters such as fried crinkle cut pickles, trash browns (deep-fried tater tots, liquid cheese and cajun onion strings) and wachos (waffle fries with classic nacho toppings). You’ll also find glorious carbs like hash browns, waffle fries and onion rings alongside their patties to create the ultimate burger experience.
The group will also be launching on Deliveroo in Liverpool to allow customers to enjoy Fat Hippo’s signature burgers in the comfort of their own home, as well as offering a click and collect service. Fat Hippo currently has eight restaurants located in Manchester, Sheffield, Newcastle, Durham, Leeds and Nottingham, as well as exciting plans to continue growing, with further sites being established across the country. Their Fat Hippo Fleet travels all over the UK, bringing their renowned burgers to thousands of national events.
Michael Phillips, who founded Fat Hippo in the North East in 2010, said: “We’re so excited to announce Fat Hippo Liverpool is opening for dine in and takeaway on Friday 28th May. The excitement about us coming to Bold Street, especially on socials, has been unreal and now we’re counting down the days until we can welcome customers through the doors.”
Michael Johnson, Fat Hippo’s Operations Manager, said: “We just couldn’t turn down the opportunity to bring the best burgers to Bold Street. It’s not long now until the people of Liverpool can enjoy a taste of ‘the good kind of gluttony.”
