A Eurovision welcome party will be held at the grand St. George’s Hall to mark the start of Eurovision 2023 in Liverpool, it’s gunna be a big bash! Up to 30,000 free tickets will be available to the public, thanks to The National Lottery which will be hosting the event.
You can’t apply for a free ticket just yet, but they will become available in early April. Some of the tickets will be reserved for Ukranian residents in the UK. The National Lottery does, after all, support lots of Liverpool community groups and charities that assist refugees in the UK. You have to be a National Lottery player tickets will be allocated on a first-come, first served basis.
The big Eurovision welcome party will take place on Sunday, May 7 and it will celebrate Liverpool’s incredible musical history. Adam Chataway from The National Lottery had this to say about the upcoming party:
“This is a giant free Eurovision party for the people of Liverpool and beyond. It’s our way of thanking anyone who has ever bought a National Lottery ticket. Their funding has been uniting people through music and other cultural projects for years and we can’t wait to host The National Lottery’s Big Eurovision Welcome.”
Joanne Anderson, Mayor of Liverpool added:
“The National Lottery’s Big Eurovision Welcome is the latest announcement in what is destined to be an extraordinary fortnight in May. No city throws a party or offers a welcome as warm as Liverpool, so this free event is going to be something very special. Not since the launch of European Capital of Culture in 2008 will St George’s Hall have seen such a big night out!”
You can expect loads of live music at the Eurovision welcome party at the stunning, Victorian St. George’s Hall and what a welcome it will be for the huge crowds of people that will flock to Liverpool from all over the world for Eurovision 2023.
