The Euros 2024 tournament has taken over Europe, with England going strong and set to play Slovakia on Sunday, June 30. Thousands of football fans are set to take over the city’s pubs this weekend, spilling more than just the occasional pint out of excitement. As a result, Heineken has introduced its new Beer insurance policy, HeineCare, guaranteeing to replace any spilt beer with free pints during the game.
The initiative came in after Heineken released its new beer ponchos, the Pint-chos. The ponchos are waterproof, not only providing cover from the rain, but also from spilt beer while jumping up with excitement.
Commenting on the launch of the Pint-cho, Heineken Marketing Manager, Stephanie Dexter said: “For decades, Heineken® has not only celebrated football fans but also championed the glorious, crisp pint and all its beauty. However, when these worlds collide during national tournaments, unfortunately, it can be dangerous for your beer…and your outfit.
So this summer we’ve intervened. The Pint-cho is fully beer resistant, it looks great and is a serious fashion statement. Beer will inevitably be spilt in pubs and pub gardens on Sunday. But it’s ok. Fans can style it out in a Pint-cho.”
How to claim free pints
The claiming process is fairly straightforward, and can be utilised at the Einstein Bier Haus in Liverpool. Fans who end up spilling their beer (we don’t think there’s a limit on how “full” the glass has to be, by the way) need to scan the QR code on their bespoke beer mats and posters in the participating pub and follow the instructions. After scanning, beer lovers will receive a free pint of Heineken or Heineken 0.0%. Plus, the originally spilt point doesn’t have to be Heineken to be able to claim one of the free pints!
Guests will also have the chance to win one of those new Pint-chos while at the Einstein Bier Haus.
