It sure knows how to get crafty!

We all know Liverpool serves up a great pint but it’s great to hear others outside the region praise it too, especially the big names in the craft beer industry. What started with a trip to a craft beer bar in Texas, gave the award-winning owners Gareth and Vicky Morgan a great idea to open their own in Liverpool in 2016. And now their bar has been crowned the hops headquarters of the year in the UK.

The Dead Crafty Beer Co was named the winner of the UK’s Best Independent Craft Beer Bar or Pub 2021 by the Society of Independent Brewers (SIBA), who are considered ‘the voice of independent British brewing’. The Liverpool bar beat city brewers from the capital such as Beer Merchants Tap in Hackney Wick and The Pigeon in Camberwell, as well as Three B’s Micropub in the coastal town of Bridlington.

Reacting to the news in a recent Instagram post, the owners wrote: “Can’t believe we’ve won UK’s Best Independent Craft Beer Bar!!! So proud of what we’ve achieved and the beer community our customers have created!”

The Dale Street drinking hole stocks beers from 16 different countries, of which more than 30 breweries are from England alone. It also offers 19 beers on draft for you to takeaway during the current lockdown restrictions. Even for those who aren’t beer fans, The Dead Crafty Beer Co will make it their mission to find a beer that you’ll love.

You’ll never get bored of the beer menu as the bar has 20 rotating beers on tap for you to try. From sweet to sour-tasting, IPA to imperial stout, wheat to barley wine, lager to cider, The Dead Crafty Beer Co has quite the selection.  To encourage customers to mix things up from their usual tipple of choice the bar also started a monthly bottle sharing event known as The Dead Good Bottle Society, hosted by Ben Jackson the supervisor and also owner of local brewery, Top Rope Brewing Company.

Plus, not only is the Liverpool craft beer bar welcoming to us humans, both locals and visitors, but it is also dog-friendly. For many, there’s nothing quite like sitting outside on a summer’s day with a refreshing beer and your furry friend by your side. Even for those who aren’t in Liverpool, they needn’t miss out on great beer and service as the bar delivers nationally by ordering from their website.
