Liverpool is home to some one-of-a-kind bars and restaurants, yet one particular new addition is a true stand-out. Daffodil Liverpool invited guests to dine above water, naming themselves as “Britain’s most sociable ship”.
Named after the flower which is a symbol of rebirth and new beginnings being the first one to bloom after winter, Daffodil Liverpool is located within the former Royal Daffodil Mersey Ferry, which took five years to restore. The space opened its doors on December 15, 2024, inviting guests to enjoy a meal at the Main Deck or some drinks at the Promenade Bar.
Owners Philip Olivier and Joshua Boyd have put a noteworthy amount of work into the project, transforming the ship into an opulent haven with sleek interiors and carefully curated food and drinks menus.
The Main Deck
Those who fancy a proper sit-down meal can opt to book the Main Deck. The menu boasts a selection of modern British cuisine from fresh, seasonal produce. Guests can indulge in a Brunch menu, an all-day menu or restaurant menu, as well as afternoon tea which is coming soon (not available as of yet).
From starters like Scallops with Lapsang Souchong Infused Cream to mains like Halibut in Zucchini Coat, the food offers a creative twist to dishes we all know and love. Visitors can also try the Loch Ryan or Menai Rock Oysters, or go for desserts like White Chocolate & Raspberry Millefeuille or Tiramisu Choux au Craquelin.
And, of course, the Main Deck is abundant with cocktail options, as well as wines, beers and other drinks.
The Promenade Bar
Located on the Upper Deck, the Promenade Bar aboard the Daffodil Liverpool is a casual space for drinks, small bites and hangouts. Boasting luxurious interiors with velvet seats and gold touches, the bar is a place to try the absinthe cocktail, To Absinthe Friends, with Rum Blend, Pineapple, Cucumber, Citrus, Agave and Absinthe, or the Eastern Promise with London Dry Gin, Lillet Rose, Aperol, Raspberry, Rose, Citrus and Whites.
The extensive wine list is also a point of allure, with highlights like the Coracao Loureiro/Arinto Vinho Verde from Portugal, or the Biscardo Neropasso Corvina/Corvinone/Cabernet Sauvignon from Veneto, Italy.
The Engine Room
The Engine Room is still under construction, and is set to become one of Liverpool’s most unique event spaces expected to host live music and cultural offerings. The space will offer flexible amenities like multi-level bars and bathrooms, seating up to 80 guests for theatre-style events, or accommodate 220 standing, or 120 banquet dining covers.
