Escape to a beautiful glasshouse within a picturesque park at these enchanting Mozart, Vivaldi and Aretha Franklin open air concerts.
You can still experience an absolutely magical (and safe) evening here in Liverpool, and part of that is thanks to the amazing outdoor spaces the city has to offer. Luckily, Fever Originals is bringing its wildly popular Candlelight concert series to the Isla Gladstone Conservatory in the beautiful Stanley Park and Gardens.
This series of open-air concerts showcases music performances in utterly magical settings as top musicians are completely surrounded by flickering candlelight. For the safety of our audience, all of the candlelight will be provided through flameless candles.
And of course, the open-air candlelight venue will allow for a stylish but safe socially distant setting. Enjoy an amazing view as the musicians play by the park’s impressive conservatory as you sip refreshing drinks and are whisked away by the beautiful, tranquil sounds of classical numbers by composers such as Mozart and Vivaldi or jazz covers of the legendary soul singer, Aretha Franklin.
The Isla Gladstone Conservatory was first built in 1870 as part of the park designer’s vision to create a useful green space in the north of the city. However, up until the park was redeveloped in 2007, the conservatory was but a pile of rusty iron and broken glass, overrun with weeds and hidden behind boards.
The park’s transformation plan saw the Isla Gladstone Conservatory shine bright again with many of the original architectural features and landscape components restored and improved to maintain its Victorian charm. And this year, you can see Stanley Park’s rejuvenated conservatory illuminate during a night of wonderful candlelight concerts.
There will be two shows each evening with time beforehand to enjoy a few sips before the music begins. Please note that the earlier performance will take place during daylight hours, so the space will not be quite as dark, but still just as enchanting!
The Isla Gladstone Conservatory at Stanley Park, a beautifully unique venue, will host a series of stunning candlelight open-air performances:
You can experience the equally unique performance of Mozart’s Best Works performed by a string quartet, in which the group perform a selection of the composer’s well-known pieces on the park’s glowing Victorian bandstand, next to the conservatory. The unbelievable setting will also play host to a night of soulful tributes to the works of American singer, songwriter, actress, pianist, and civil rights activist, Aretha Franklin.
The Isla Gladstone Conservatory has previously set the stage for a performance of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, which was enjoyed by many. Here is what some of the audience had to say about the experience:
“It was a magical evening, and thoroughly enjoyed. Beautiful candlelight, the scene wonderfully set. Just gorgeous.”
“A beautiful evening in a glorious setting. The event was well organised, we felt safe and the staff were all friendly. Music was stunning and we loved how the little explanations helped us spot the musical story. Definitely recommended.”
Drinks and snacks will be available for separate purchase at the venue. You’ll be able to purchase tickets in groups of two, three or four for these events.
