Liverpool is not short on great restaurants, yet one specific spot in the city has officially earned a place at the top. The British Restaurant Awards crowned the best restaurant in Liverpool last week, as well as all the best spots around the country. 8 By Andy Sheridan won the award for 2024, retaining its status as the city’s top fine dining establishment.
The annual British Restaurant Awards celebrates the best eating and drinking spots, as well as chefs and culinary services around the UK. What is more, diners themselves get the chance to nominate and vote for their favourites among the 16 regions.

8 By Andy Sheridan won for its “innovative dishes that push culinary boundaries”, having relocated to Liverpool last year from Birmingham with the same name. The restaurant offers guests a unique fine dining experience, starting at the same times each week.
The concept is also quite unique: 16 people dine together sitting across two tables, each with their private chef cooking in front of them. Guests are also told the stories behind each dish, making it an immersive storytelling experience. There is no particular cuisine that Andy Sheridan follows, taking inspiration from around the world.

The restaurant thanked its team on Instagram after receiving the award, saying: “Well done everyone.”
