It’s official: BBC Radio 1 ‘s Big Weekend is coming to Liverpool, bringing 100 artists to one place this May 2025. More details of the line-up have been announced today (March 10), making for some exciting announcements.
The BBC Radio 1 Big Weekend is taking place at Sefton Park in Liverpool between May 23 and 25, bringing over 100,000 music lovers into one place and featuring around 100 artists. Guests can expect four stages – Radio 1 Main Stage, Radio 1’s Future Sounds, Radio 1 Dance and BBC Introducing.
Furthermore, further headliners and artists have been announced today (March 10), joining singer-songwriter Sam Fender. Further headliners taking to the Main Stage are Biffy Clyro, James Hype, Tom Grennan and The Wombats. And the Radio 1 New Music stage will host Barry Can’t Swim, Confidence Man, D.O.D, Jazzy, Katy B, Nia Archives and Prospa.
Moreover, The BBC Introducing Stage will see LIMF Academy alumni Koj, Superlate and Tonia, as well as Aimei, Crawlers, Courting, Dirty Nice, Erin Lecount, Esme Emerson, Fat Dog, Jayahadadream, Jetta, Keyside, Le Boom, Leonie Biney, Liang Lawrence, Luvcat, Mackenzy Mackay, Paisleighb, Pixey and Sienna Spiro.
Tom Grennan said: “Being asked to headline Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Liverpool, a city that has given so much to the rich musical tapestry of this country, is an incredible honour. Radio 1 have backed me from day one from the humble beginning of the BBC Introducing stage for BBC, to BBC Introducing Artist of the Year 2018, and beyond.”
“We have shared so many amazing moments on my journey so far, and to now go hand in glove and headline their event in such an incredible city will be another crowning moment for me and my career so far. See you in the fields Tom x.”
Sam Fender said: “Excited to announce we’re coming to Liverpool for Radio 1’s Big Weekend in May. Thanks for inviting us – see you there!”
Sam will also be joined by Blossoms, Lola Young, Myles Smith, and Wet Leg.

“The last time I was there I was doing a big game of Hide and Seek and was hidden in the Liver building for a week so it’ll be nice to see some daylight and enjoy it properly this time.

BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend tickets availability
Festival-goers can get tickets to BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend from Thursday, March 13, from 5pm on the BBC website. They cost £33, plus a £4.50 booking fee per ticket.
After the tickets went live, looks like Saturday has been completely sold out, with Friday and Sunday still having some regional tickets left for Liverpool and its surrounding areas residents only. However, BBC has not yet confirmed tickets have sold out for Friday or Sunday, but Saturday is officially sold out.
Plus, VIP tickets are still available for all three days.
